Review: Burger King - Peach and Granola Sundae

Burger King's new Peach and Granola Sundae is one of the new premium sundae in their new soft serve line up and features a simple cup of vanilla soft serve with peach topping and crunchy granola.

Unlike the slightly larger Oreo Sundae, it's the same size as the $1 "traditional" (read: chocolate, caramel, or strawberry) sundaes but costs a little more at $1.79.

I liked the Peach and Granola Sundae much better than the Oreo Sundae. The peach topping seems to be some sort of peach jam or compote and offers something different than what you typically get at say... McDonald's. It goes quite well with vanilla soft serve with a peachy tartness. I had to dig some out of the bottom of the cup to mix into the soft serve so that I didn't end up with a bottom full of peach topping with nothing to eat it with.

The granola comes in sizable chunks and is tasty and crunchy.
I really think Burger King could have taken this and run with it instead of chasing McDonald's and other competing chains with more traditional sundaes. They could have positioned themselves as offering a healthier, more premium soft serve component than McDonald's and offered a couple more fruit toppings like strawberry or orange; Orange Cream Sundae anyone? Right?!
