Frozen Friday: Lean Cuisine - Fajita-Style Chicken Spring Rolls

Lean Cuisine's Fajita-Style Chicken Spring Rolls feature white meat chicken chipotle, corn, black beans, bell peppers, and onions wrapped in a spring roll wrapper.

An 8-ounce box contains two servings which makes them more of a snack than a meal. You're looking at a normal price of around $3.99 or between $2 and $3 on sale.

The rolls come wrapped in two sets of three with a crisping sleeve similar to Hot Pockets for microwaving. The ends are blackened from pre-frying before they were frozen I think.

The spring roll wrapper stick a bit to each other but turn out just very slightly crisp with a more substantial underlying softness. They are a bit oily but the overall result is still pleasant.

For those adverse to spicy heat, the chipotle chicken carries a fair bit as well as a slight but flavorful tang. The chicken is shredded but just a tad pasty in texture. I didn't really notice the onions and bell peppers but the corns and beans add a change-up in texture as well as flavor.

At the end of the day, Lean Cuisine's Fajita-Style Chicken Spring Rolls give a bit of Mexican flavor in an Asian wrapper. The resulting entree is quite good, especially in flavor. A single serving is probably an inadequate amount for all but light eaters though.
