Review: Arby's - Jamocha Cream Pie

Arby's Jamocha Cream Pie is a riff on their popular Jamocha Shake that switches it up by giving it to you in cream pie form.

Each slice of pie comes with a layer of Jamocha-flavored cream (or creme) layered below some whipped topping and a drizzle of chocolate syrup for $1.49.

Inexplicably, my server placed my cream pie upside down in my to-go bag which left the topping a little worse for the wear, but beyond aesthetics didn't change my experience.

My pie was a little bit on the soft side but otherwise, tt basically tasted like a typical store-bought frozen cream pie (sans the frozen part) but with coffee flavor added. The mocha (chocolate plus coffee) flavor was normal and creamy enough; not particularly rich but nonetheless enjoyable. My only qualm was I would have liked it a bit firmer, but I guess I could have stuck it in the freezer for that. Of course, that's not so much an option if you're eating at Arby's.

The crust was made of graham cracker and a bit hard which was a bit jarring considering the softness of the cream. Still, it was tasty enough.

My only real complaint being the lack of firmness to the "cream," the Jamocha Cream Pie scores as a good dessert option for the coffee-minded, cream-pie-eating set.

  1. I wonder where these fast-food joints are finding room for the seemingly constant additions to their menus?
