Review: Meiji - Hello Panda Cookies

Meiji Hello Panda Cookies are bite-sized chocolate creme filled cookies, shaped vaguely like a round head with or without bear ears and decorated with a panda picture.

A 2.1-ounce box goes for about 79 cents at my local Asian supermarket.

Meiji is a Japanese brand but this particular box was a product of Singapore.

If any of you remember Koala Yummies, Hello Pandas are very similar to them. They both have a light fairly thin, crisp biscuit layer for a shell. But where I remember Koala Yummies having a solid chocolate center, Hello Pandas have a chocolate creme center with a fairly rich and sweet milk chocolate taste. The consistency is similar to Nutella which is to say it's smooth but not as dense as peanut butter.

Overall, they're very enjoyable and the panda graphics are a bonus to amuse the kids or the young at heart.
