Review: Taco Bell - Double Cheesy Gordita Crunch

Taco Bell's Double Cheesy Gordita Crunch takes the original Cheesy Gordita Crunch and adds a helping of seasoned beef to the layer of cheese between the crunchy taco shell and the fluffy Gordita flatbread.

I went for the $5 Box combo, which includes the Double Cheesy Gordita Crunch, two crunchy tacos, and a medium drink (the Double Cheesy Gordita Crunch is $3.79 by itself at my local Taco Bell).

If you're a fan of Taco Bell's seasoned ground beef, there's an abundance of it in every bite of the new menu item along with quite a bit of cheese.

It basically feels like an extra cheesy, super beefy crunchy taco but with more variety on the texture side of things due to the melty layer of cheese and soft, pillowy flatbread. You also get a bit of creamy tanginess (but not much heat) from the spicy ranch sauce.

As a fan of the Cheesy Gordita Crunch, I found the Double Cheesy Gordita Crunch to be all the more better with the extra beef and the requisite flavor that comes with it. The placement of the extra beef between the shells rather than doubled up in the taco shell was key in spreading out all that beefy goodness.
