Review: Shake Shack - Avocado Bacon Burger

Shake Shack's Avocado Bacon Burger features a beef patty, American cheese, sliced avocado, Niman Ranch applewood-smoked bacon, and Shack Sauce on a potato bun.

I paid $7.89 for one (which is just 30 cents more than their regular menu bacon cheeseburger--the SmokeShack). You can add avocado to any burger or sandwich on the menu but it'll cost you $1.25 extra (may vary).

The avocado slices were slightly firm, plentiful, and cut thick for a buttery flavor throughout the burger.

The bacon was thin and didn't look like much but the smoky, porky flavor carried through admirably and contributed a nice, crispy texture to the burger.

The burger patty had a very nice crust that was good for some crunch at points and a deeper savory flavor from the browning. The cheese on top of it was thoroughly melted.

The Shack Sauce offered a mild mayo-based blend with bits of sweet, savory, and tangy, while the bun was super squishy soft.

Overall, Shake Shack's Avocado Bacon Burger turned out really well by keeping it simple but well-executed with just the essential components of a bacon avocado cheeseburger.
