Cheerios Offers Retro, Limited-Edition "CheeriOats" Packaging

Cheerios celebrates 80 years by offering retro, limited-edition boxes of "CheeriOats" nationwide starting this month. Cheerios was first introduced in 1941 under the "CheeriOats" name.

According to the brand, they went through over 500 recipes and 10 shapes and sizes before settling on the o-shaped oat cereal that they're known for today. The Cheerios name was introduced in 1945 so the "CheeriOats" name didn't last long at all.

As part of the celebration, Cheerios is holding a social media sweepstakes for a chance to win one of five personalized Cheerios boxes. You can find details on how to enter at www.cheerios.com/Cheerios80thSweepstakes.

Limited-edition CheeriOats boxes can be found at major retailers nationwide staritng this month, while supplies last.  The boxes come in 10.8-oz and 19.8-oz sizes for a suggested price of $3.99 and $4.99, respectively.
