Hostess Cookies & Creme Crispy (stylized as "Cr!spy") Minis feature two layers of chocolaty filling between crisp wafers, topped with a layer of crispy filling and crispy bits.
A 7.3-oz bag carries a suggested price of $3.49 but I received this courtesy of Hostess.
Each piece is bite-sized and a little larger than a quarter.
There's three crispy wafers to each Crispy Mini piece. They had a texture similar to the wafers you find in a Kit-Kat bar, which is to say they are have a fairly airy structure with a light, yielding crispiness.
To go with the crispy wafers were three layers of filling: two chocolaty and one creamy. The creamy top layer was a little thicker but the flavor of the chocolaty layers were much more prominent. They offered the same smooth, paste-like feel of Oreos or similar sandwich cookies.
The crispy bits on top added a nice crunchy quality but not much in the way of flavor except for an occasional stray note of chocolate.
Taken altogether, Hostess Cookies & Creme Crispy Minis mostly taste like chocolate creme wafers with some extra crunch and sweetness as the chocolaty layers come across a lot stronger than the creme layer. They're quite enjoyable but I would like more flavor from the creme component.
