Flamin' Hot Bar-B-Q Fritos features a combination of "mouth watering Bar-B-Q flavor and Flamin' Hot burn" on Fritos corn chips.
A 9.25-oz bag costs $5.69 but I received this courtesy of Frito Lay.
Opening the bag released a spicy aroma tinged with barbecue smoke.
Upfront, the chips offers the savory heat of Flamin' Hot followed by the sweet, tomato-y tang of smoky barbecue sauce. It's a pretty addictive combination that builds fairly quickly in terms of heat.
Underlying the seasoning is the smooth crunch and fried flavor of corn chips. Compared to Doritos, they feel slightly crunchier (due to the lack of bubbling I think) with a more robust fried corn flavor.
Overall, I quite enjoyed Flamin' Hot Bar-B-Q Fritos and, despite the heat, found it hard to stop eating them. You can think of them as Flamin' Hot Fritos tinged with barbecue flavor instead of cheese.
