Review: Mtn Dew Baja Blast Caribbean Splash

Mtn Dew Baja Blast Caribbean Splash bottle.

Mountain Dew's Mtn Dew Baja Blast Caribbean Splash features guava flavor combined with Mtn Dew citrus soda. It is available as a limited-time edition of the Mtn Dew Baja Blast lineup this Summer 2023.

A 20-oz bottle retails for roughly $2.29, but I received this courtesy of Mountain Dew.

Mtn Dew Baja Blast Caribbean Splash had a peachy pink color, somewhat similar to the flesh of pink guava. There was the distinct citrus scent of classic Mtn Dew combined the fruity musk of guava.

If you've never had guava, it has a unique flavor and aroma that is a little musky, almost savory, and equal parts sweet and sour. Baja Blast Caribbean Splash managed a surprisingly accurate but light guava flavor that was most prominent in the end note. The initial taste was the familiar citrus profile of Mtn Dew, notable because these limited-edition flavors typically don't have a prominent Mtn Dew flavor. The sweetness level was moderate and made for easy drinking.

Overall, Mtn Dew Baja Blast Caribbean Splash was quite delicious. It offered the refreshing, fruity flavor of guava and tempered it with citrus notes. The guava flavor wasn't overpowering, and I think it offers a nice introduction to guava for those who haven't had this tropical fruit.
