Carnitas Returns to Del Taco

Carnitas is back on the Del Taco menu for a limited time this summer. The slow-cooked pork is simmered in "authentic" spices and paired with a new Roasted Salsa Roja that's made with fire-roasted tomatillos and chipotle peppers.

The fast-food chain also brings back its Independence Poppers drinks and Funnel Cake Fries for a limited time.

Del Taco's pork carnitas is featured in the following menu items:

- Carnitas Combo Burrito - Shredded pork carnitas, house-grated cheddar cheese, slow-cooked beans, and Roasted Salsa Roja, wrapped in a warm flour tortilla. Prices vary, but a location here in Los Angeles charges $5.39 for the burrito.

- Carnitas Street Tacos (pictured) - Shredded pork carnitas, diced onions, chopped cilantro, and  Roasted Salsa Roja, folded in a warm corn tortilla. You get three tacos per order. An order of tacos costs $8.99 at the same location.

- Carnitas Loaded Fries - Crinkle-cut fries topped with shredded pork carnitas, house-grated cheddar cheese, Roasted Salsa Roja, Secret Sauce, diced onions, and chopped cilantro. It's $6.79 for the topped fries.

- Carnitas Quesadilla - Shredded pork carnitas, house-grated cheddar cheese, and Roasted Salsa Roja, folded in a flour tortilla and grilled. The quesadilla costs $5.99 around here.

Del Taco's Independence Poppers drinks feature strawberry-flavored popping boba pearls mixed with blue raspberry flavor and Sprite or lemonade over ice or in a vanilla shake. The drinks range from $2.99 for a regular to $4.29 for a large, while the shake costs $4.29.

The chains' fried Funnel Cake Fries come dusted with powdered sugar. An order costs $2.69.

Del Taco's carnitas, Independence Poppers beverages, and Funnel Cake Fries are available now for a limited time through August 11, 2025.
