Review: Arby's - Grilled Chicken and Pecan Salad Wrap

Arby's only-available-in-some-markets Market Fresh Pecan Chicken Salad Sandwich is now available for a limited-time (through mid-August) in a whole-grain wrap just in time for summer. The Grilled Chicken and Pecan Salad Wrap fills a whole wheat flatbread with sliced roast chicken, mayo, diced apples, sliced grapes, diced celery, chopped, toasted pecans, and green leaf lettuce.

Each wrap is available for $4.29.

The first thing I noticed about Arby's Grilled Chicken and Pecan Salad Wrap is how it was nicely wrapped with an open end and a closed end. The second thing I noticed was how cold it was; this is definitely a plus during hot weather. The wrap was a good size and had a good heft to it; I extended it into two light meals.

The flatbread is most similar to a Middle Eastern lavash bread rather than a tortilla or a pita which made it drier but still pliable. It contains a full 23 grams of whole grains. With help from the lettuce, it held up very well against the moist salad and I was able to eat the wrap with almost no mess. There was a little browning at the edge of the lettuce but it tasted fine.
Biting into the wrap, I was surprised by the satisfying crunch of the apples and nuts. The chicken salad was fresh rather than soggy although a little heavy on the mayo. The chicken was soft and moist and I could taste the distinct flavors of each ingredient.

Overall, very nice eats especially in the summer. Besides the slight abundance of mayo, I don't have anything to complain about.

  1. I'm still not sold on the fruit, nuts and chicken mix. I know it's popular but I just can't get behind it. Plus, I'm not a big fan of pecans but I know a lot of people who would love this. Now I can make it sound like I have gotten over my phobia of pecans and suggest this wrap ;)

  3. I loved the new grilled chicken & pecan salad wrap - it was delicious & not messy. However, there was a lot of mayo in the salad. I was wondering how many calories & fat on in it. It seems quite healthy (which I really look for) other than the mayo. It might be nice to have the option of putting your own "dressing" on it. I don't know. The service was great at the Greenville, Michigan store!

  4. 630 calories and 41 grams of fat... you're better off eating a regular roast beef.

  5. To look at the other side of the coin, business would be enhanced by this approach to a greater extent. In the day to day hustle bustle of rush, no one carries any time to stop and wait for your advertisement to be telecasted on TV, radio or newspaper. It is in the traffic that you cannot take your eyes off the moving vehicle in front of you; hence the advertisement comes into notice and leaves an impact. It is noted that in a moving minute a car wrap or truck wrap is capable of catching thousands of eyes at once. This reach is by and large, the most effective and lower in costs.
