Review: Porto's Bakery - Carrot Muffin

Porto's Bakery's Carrot Muffin
I'm a big fan of carrot cake, so it's not surprising that I tried the Carrot Muffin from Porto's Bakery in Burbank.  I think a big reason for Porto's popularity beyond the Cheese Rolls, is the relative affordability of their baked goods and the huge selection. Items that would normally cost $2 to $4 dollars at other comparable bakeries or cafe cost $1 to $2 at Porto's. Also, the make a great cup of coffee, especially their Dulce De Leche Latte.

The Carrot Muffin contains a blend of pineapples, raisins, spiced cake and, of course, shredded carrots. It sells for $1.05.

The muffin was nice and moist which is good because no one likes dry cake. I'm not a big fan of pineapple in my carrot cake but here, the pineapple didn't overwhelm the other flavors as it is sometimes wont to do. I would have liked walnuts in the mix, but for $1.05, I'm not complaining too much.  Overall, a good but not great, carrot muffin.

  2. It seems like there are lots of good stuff from Porto's. Interesting wrapper considering most muffin has the small wrinkly kind
