Review: Chick-fil-A - Cookies & Cream Milkshake

Chick-fil-A Cookies & Cream Milkshake
Chick-fil-A's Cookies & Cream Milkshake features Chick-fil-A vanilla Icedream (soft-serve) handspun with bits of Oreo cookies, topped with whipped cream and a cherry. A large costs $3.45.

It's a well-known secret that I love me some Chick-fil-A; their quality is top notch, consistent, and for the most part, delicious. I say, "for the most part" because Chick-fil-A's Cookies & Cream Milkshake was an overall disappointing experience.

While I could say something about how milkshakes should just be milk blended with copious amounts of ice cream like back in the olden days, it's really not what I expect from the fast food chains. I just didn't like how Chick-fil-A's Cookies & Cream Milkshake tasted; it had this sweet, cloying, artificial aftertaste that I just didn't care for. It pretty much ruined the whole milkshake for me.

Everything else wasn't great, but wasn't bad either: it was the right consistency for drinking through a straw; it was a tad on the sweet side; and while it wasn't super creamy, it was a fair compromise. Still, this is one of the few items I wouldn't ever get again at Chick-fil-A.

  1. Really...I would say that Chik-fil-a's Cookies and Cream is tied with Arby's Jamocha for the best shake available in the Fast Food market.

Now Steak n Shake's seasonal Caramel Apple Shake...that is in a league of it's own (!)

  2. Well to be fair, I might be biased. I live near a old fashioned ice cream parlor that makes their own ice cream and makes super rich milkshakes that are more ice cream than milk for about $4.

I like the Strawberry Shake at Chick-fil-A much better than the Cookies & Cream version.
