Review: Sonic - Crispy Chicken Sandwich

Sonic Crispy Chicken Sandwich
Sonic's Crispy Chicken Sandwich features all white meat crispy fried chicken breast topped with the traditional lettuce, tomatoes and mayo served on a wheat bun made with whole grain for $3.79.

With a premium price, I was expecting more of a premium product. While, the whole wheat bun was a nice touch healthwise and the mayo and tomatoes were standard, the crispy chicken breast left something to be desired. Also, if you're going to go healthy with a whole wheat bun, some Romaine lettuce would be a nice touch.

For one, it was a bit on the dry side. This seems to be an across the board concern at Sonic; I haven't yet had a nice, juicy piece of chicken there yet. Second, while the chicken was salted enough and the breading had good texture--nice and crispy, it needs more seasoning... some extra pepper, garlic, super secret seasoning... I don't know... just something.

  1. I wonder how difficult it would be to have a "condiment bar" near the front counter where the eater could unwrap the grub, pry off the bun on top and sprinkle condiments?

Garlic, oregano and other types of tasty things besides the pain-in-the-butt mini-packlets of salt and pepper.

Cost prohibitive? Too messy? Health concerns or local rules/regulations by city or health department or whatever?
