Review: Jack in the Box - Bourbon BBQ Steak Grilled Sandwich

Jack in the Box's Bourbon BBQ Steak Grilled Sandwich is their latest limited-time grilled sandwich offering and features strips of steak, grilled onions and melting cheese covered with Jack’s new Bourbon BBQ sauce and served on grilled artisan bread for $4.69.

This one was pretty forgettable for me. The most distinguishing feature was the Bourbon BBQ sauce which was a lot more tangy than your typical barbecue sauce.
Other than that, the steak was tender but bereft of a good charring and lacking in texture. I think a sliced roast beef would have been a better choice. The cheese was standard American which is great for melting but not so much for flavor. The onions could have done with an In-N-Out-style grilling to draw out some of that sweetness.

My favorite part was actually the bread which, while a bit on the thin side, was grilled to a nice, nuanced, buttery crust (more so than previous sandwiches but I did go to a different Jack in the Box for this one). If only it were paired with a decent cheese.
Buy yeah, Jack's Bourbon BBQ Steak Grilled Sandwich was pretty forgettable. I much preferred the now-gone Pastrami Grilled Sandwich.
