International Weekend: Bergen - Apple-Raisin Cookies

This week's International Weekend again goes with Poland for Bergen brand Apple-Raisin Cookies picked up for an easy $1.00 for a 140g (4.94-ounce) box.

Unlike Apple Jacks, Bergen's Apple-Raisin Cookies actually tastes like apples and pretty strongly too. I could actually smell the apples as I opened the plastic wrapper.
The cookie itself is pretty crumbly; you'll want a napkin or you can eat it outside or over the sink like I do to avoid cleaning up crumbs.

The raisins actually retain some moisture and aren't dried out from baking. They add a nice, slightly chewy texture to the cookie. The product shot on the box looks like there are what appears to be apple bits baked into the cookie but I didn't see or feel any.
Still, a very interesting and good cookie that offers a taste I'd previously never experienced before. Good stuff!
