Frozen Friday: Haagen-Dazs - Spiced Pecan Turtle Ice Cream

Haagen-Dazs Spiced Pecan Turtle ice cream features chocolaty-covered, spiced pecans in chocolate ice cream with swirls of caramel.

A 14-oz container was $2.99 on sale.

Spiced Pecan Turtle ice cream is one of six flavors of the new Artisan Collection that they started putting out this year.

Whether or not you'll like this largely depends on whether you like Mexican hot chocolate as there's a cinnamon chocolate flavor throughout.

The pecan pieces are pretty sizable and provide an extra boost of chocolate and spiced flavor but they appear to be few and far between as I only came across one after a good amount of digging. The chocolaty coating isn't particularly rich.

The caramel offered a rich sweetness and hint of salt with a nice liquid consistency.

Overall, Haagen-Dazs' Spiced Pecan Turtle ice cream hits a nice balance between chocolate, caramel, and spice but lacks a little in the pecan department. I'm not a fan of the chocolate and cinnamon combination, but if you are, it's worth a try.
