Krispy Kreme Just Finished Offering Gelato-Filled Donut Sandwiches in Japan

Looking to grab on to the ice cream donut sandwich trend happening in some spots here in the U.S., Krispy Kreme just recently wrapped up a limited-time offer of ice cream and gelato-filled donut sandwiches over in Japan.

The Kool Krispy Sandwich featured an Original Glazed donut split in half and filled with a scoop of raspberry gelato, a scoop of vanilla ice cream, and a mix of frozen berries. They were offered from April 13 through April 26, 2016 for 420 yen a piece (~$3.93 US).

The chain has offered soft serve-filled donut sandwiches in South Korea previously, as well as soft serve-topped donut sundaes here in the U.S. at select locations, but the gelato and berries made the Japanese offering a little bit fancier.
