Burger King Fires Up New Grilled Chicken Sandwich

Burger King introduces the new Grilled Chicken Sandwich to permanently replace their previous grilled chicken sandwich.

The new sandwich features a marinated and seasoned flame-grilled chicken breast filet served with lettuce, tomato, and honey mustard on a toasted potato bun.

The previous grilled chicken filet was described as "marinated and seasoned with pepper and herbs" and came served with mayo rather than honey mustard. The switch to honey mustard is good enough to knock about 50 calories off. It appears the newer version also features a slightly larger filet. The lettuce, tomato, and potato bun are largely unchanged from before.

Burger King's new Grilled Chicken Sandwich can be found at participating restaurants nationwide for a suggested price of $4.99 per sandwich. You can also get it as part of a combo along with small fries and a small drink for $6.99 (may vary).

Interestingly, in promoting the sandwich, Burger King has targeted KFC, which doesn't even serve a grilled chicken sandwich nationwide although they do offer oven-baked/broiled Kentucky Grilled Chicken as a healthier alternative to their mainstay fried chicken. You can see the TV spot they put out below:

You might even consider it advertising for a competitor as it has been years since KFC has run any national spots for their grilled chicken.
