Like a regular Chalupa, the new Toasted Cheddar version comes filled with seasoned beef, shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, grated cheddar cheese, and reduced-fat sour cream. Where it differs is that the fried chalupa shell is embedded and covered with toasted cheddar cheese.
The price tag is $2.49 for the Toasted Cheddar Chalupa alone. It's also available in a $5 Box along with two crunchy tacos and a medium drink.
The new menu item is testing through mid-November 2018.
If it sounds familiar, the same concept along with a breakfast version was testing earlier in March of this year. A second test is typically a good sign for its chances of appearing on the menu at the national level.
