Review: My/Mo - Cool Peppermint Mochi Ice Cream

My/Mo Cool Peppermint Mochi Ice Cream features balls of peppermint-flavored ice cream with minty bits wrapped in a skin of mochi (they refer to it as "sweet, pillowy dough").

A 9.1-oz box of six mochi ice cream pieces costs about $5.99 but I received this courtesy of My/Mo.

The ice cream offered a moderately sweet and cool peppermint flavor with a nice creaminess. The minty bits weren't crunchy like a candy cane but instead were crispy (almost like very thin chocolate).

The soft mochi shell delivered that soft, squishy, chewiness that mochi is known for along with a fair sprinkling of corn starch that kept it from sticking to my hand but made for a bit of a mess as it dusted the counter.

Overall, My/Mo Cool Peppermint Mochi Ice Cream strikes a nice balance in terms of peppermint flavor. It's not too light that you almost miss it but isn't too heavy that it feels like toothpaste. Add in the varied textures between the smooth ice cream, delicate minty bits, and soft mochi and it makes for quite the enjoyable winter dessert.
