Jack in the Box Tests New Plant-Based "Unchicken" Sandwiches

Jack in the Box partners with Raised & Rooted to test new Unchicken and Spicy Unchicken sandwiches at select locations in Monterey and Salinas, CA as well as Reno, NV.

The new Unchicken patty is made from pea protein isolate and comes covered in the chain's traditional crispy breading. In both regular and spicy versions, the Unchicken comes served with mayo, lettuce, and tomato on a toasted split-top bun. Basically, the plant-based sandwiches are like their chicken counterparts minus the chicken. You can order them a la carte or as part of a combo meal.

Both the Unchicken and Spicy Unchicken sandwiches are available through December 12, 2020, while supplies last.

Raised & Rooted is the alternative protein products brand that Tyson Foods launched in 2019. The line currently includes plant-based nuggets and tenders as well as blended beef and pea protein isolate hamburger patties.
