Review: Trolli Sour Duo Crawlers

Trolli Sour Duo Crawlers Bag

Trolli Sour Duo Crawlers feature fruit-flavored, dual-textured sour gummy worms.

A 4.25-oz bag costs around $3 but I received this courtesy of Trolli.

Opening the bag, yielded a general fruity aroma with some tropical notes that reminded me a little of Hawaiian Punch.

3 Flavors of Trolli Sour Duo Crawlers side by side

Each Crawler/gummy worm has a "gummy side" on top and a "soft side" on the bottom. They offer three different varieties with dual flavors, including: Guava-Strawberry, Mango-Pineapple, and Watermelon-Citrus.

While the top side is firmer than the bottom, both sides are still pretty gummi like, which is to say their squishy, springy, and chewy. While I noticed the difference while holding and squeezing them, it didn't really make that much difference when I was chewing on them as it's a matter of degrees rather than contrast.

All the flavors were nice and fruity but the pineapple stuck out to me in particular insofar as being closest to the fruit (or rather fruit juice--as I wrote this, I looked over at the ingredients, and, surprisingly, pineapple juice concentrate is the only juice in the gummies).

As a fan of sour gummies in general, Trolli Sour Duo Crawlers were pretty great but not all that different from regular sour gummies. The difference between the layers were fairly minimal in terms of texture, especially if you're chewing on them rather than just holding them.
