Review: Wendy's - Guacamole Bacon Cheeseburger

Wendy's new Guacamole Bacon Cheeseburger is a premium fast food burger being tested in the southern California area and features a quarter pound beef patty, bacon, Swiss cheese, guacamole, onions, tomatoes, and mayo on a Kaiser bun. The price is about average for a premium fast food offering at $4.29.

As I popped open the hood of this burger to check out the guac, I was kinda disappointed by the thin layer spread on the top bun and the complete lack of texture. I'm used to guacamole being chunkier with bits of tomatoes and avocado; Wendy's version seemed almost whipped smooth. I was actually surprised when it imparted quite a bit of tart, buttery flavor to the burger.
The applewood-smoked bacon was just slightly thicker and a fair bit wider than what I normally expect from fast food bacon and tasted fattier, like real bacon. There was also enough bacon for every bite.
The cheese was fairly mild but went better with the burger than American or Cheddar would have.
Everything else was pretty standard but all the flavors fit really well together and made for a pretty good burger. Overall, Wendy's Guacamole Bacon Cheeseburger is a pretty good fast food burger that offers a novel taste not standard to the normal Wendy's menu.

  1. Mine was really good. Two strips of bacon, cheese, tomato, lettuce, red onion and good amount of guacamole.

  2. I ordered this the other day and they literally did not even put a burger patty on it! I bit into it and it was just bacon, guac, and  toppings. I kept thinking maybe I read the sign on the street wrong and it was supposed to be some kind of BLT spinoff without a patty because there was a good amount of bacon on the bun, but apparently they did forget the patty, hahahahaha

  3. Pretty gross imo. Something about the guac clashed with the cheese. I got it without tomato or onions so maybe that was the problem.

  4. Haha that sucks! I would contact Wendy's corporate. I'm sure they'll hook you up with a replacement.

  5. You were lucky, I ordered one without ranch dressing. It came with no dressing or guacamole. Took it back and they had put a dollop about the size of quarter and just as flat. This was my third trip back because of their screwups so I gave up. Complained to corporate by email, who responded by asking me to email their personal email account?  So far no answer why.

  6. I've gotten this twice, and both times, they were VERY generous with the guacamole, which is actually a very good guacamole (for a fast food place, anyways) which makes this burger (along with the above average bacon - again, for a FF place) one of the better fast food burgers out there.

  7. Ah, I wish I went to your local Wendy's then. I find that individual locations tend to vary. But I agree very good guac and bacon (for a fast food place).
