Review: Corner Bakery Cafe - Spinach Sweet Crisp Salad

Corner Bakery Cafe's Spinach Sweet Crisp Salad is new for this summer and features baby spinach tossed with freshly-sliced strawberries, oranges, red grapes, dried cranberries, green onions, creamy goat cheese and raisin pecan sweet crisps, drizzled with a house-made pomegranate vinaigrette. They also include a small breadstick to go with the salad.

It's available in cafe (which I got) and entree sizes for $5.99 and $6.99 respectively.

This is one of the sweeter salad out there; it's almost a fruit salad with spinach. Seeing as I like fruit salad, the Spinach Sweet Crisp Salad was pretty enjoyable.
All the fruit seemed freshly sliced as promised and the salad looked freshly made. There's a fair bit of textures going on between the fresh fruit, dried cranberries, cheese, spinach, and crisps. The "crisps" are more like "crunches;" they're pretty crunchy and sweet with a cinnamon raisin flavor. They're actually quite enjoyable on their own as a snack as well as in the salad.

The pomegranate vinaigrette was a bit of piling sweetness on sweetness and I used it sparingly.
The goat cheese and the green onions were nice touches, offering a respite from tart and sweet with more savory flavors. The bread stick was pretty good as well; very soft, airy, and most importantly, buttery!

Overall, I enjoyed Corner Bakery Cafe's Spinach Sweet Crisp Salad quite a bit for its fresh, varied ingredients and sweet flavor.
