The price is at the lower end of comparable sandwiches at $3.79.
I already tried the Crispy version of McDonald's new Premium Chicken Sandwiches, I thought I'd give the healthier grilled version a go.
What really sets the Premium Grilled Chicken Classic Sandwich from other similar premium chicken offerings by other fast food chains is really the bun. It's not as soft or squishy and is instead, heartier. I like the difference, it sets the sandwich apart from other menu items and gives it a more "premium" feel if only because it's different. It could have stood to be toasted a bit better.
The sandwich also goes with leafy green lettuce which tends to wilt under heat (like say from a grilled chicken breast filet) but is a more upscale, healthier option than the typical iceberg lettuce.
Everything else is pretty standard. The chicken wasn't the moistest but it wasn't the driest either, falling somewhere in between. It was seasoned well to good effect and reasonably thick. It did tend to slip around a bit though, leaving me with a couple bites of just bun.
Overall, McDonald's Premium Grilled Chicken Sandwich is pretty good and just a little bit more "premium" than other competitors in the segment. I'd still go for the crispy version for the added texture and crunch.
