Secret Menu: Starbucks - Butterbeer Frappuccino

Starbucks' secret menu Butterbeer Frappuccino is meant to mimic the Butterbeer drink mentioned in the Harry Potter book series. The same drink that is currently only available at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando, Florida.

I bought a 16-oz Grande for $4.85. Here's how you can too:

You can't really go "gimme a Tall Butterbeer Frappuccino" and just expect your barista to know what you're talking about (Starbucks doesn't have an official secret menu, just recipes that fans keep coming up with). That's not to say that your barista won't know, but why chance not getting what you expect?

Instead ask for this (you can also just show this post from your phone):

- A Vanilla Bean Creme Frappuccino with
- two pumps of Toffee Nut Syrup
- two pumps of Caramel Syrup
- plus a Caramel Drizzle on top

You can adjust the syrup to your preferences. In my area, the extra syrup was an extra 50 cents for both syrups and the Caramel Drizzle was another 60 cents. If you want something warmer for the fall/winter, just substitute a Vanilla Steamer (or Steamed Milk) instead of the Vanilla Bean Creme Frappuccino.

How does it taste? It was really good with a strong nutty toffee flavor with a lighter buttery sweetness from the caramel (I might suggest getting another pump of caramel for more butteriness, but I'm afraid it would make the drink too sweet) and a milky vanilla undertone from the vanilla base.

I've never actually had a butterbeer from Harry Potter World (but they are building another one here in Los Angeles pretty soon!) so I can't really say if it really tastes like butterbeer, but it was really delicious.
