Krispy Kreme's Future Includes New Donut-Infused Ice Cream Shakes and Ice Cream Sandwiches

Krispy Kreme's newest location in Concord, NC features what they're calling "a taste of what's to come" in new donut-infused ice cream that can be found in both milkshakes and donut ice cream sandwiches, plus customizable versions of the chain's Original Glazed Donut.

The new Scoop Sandwiches consists of a scoop of Original Glazed Donut-infused ice cream between two halves of a sliced doughnut with a combination of toppings and drizzles. Available choices include Vanilla Sprinkled, Triple Chocolate, Cookies & Kreme, Vanilla Chip, Chocolatey Caramel Coconut, and Vanilla Fruity Crunch.

The new hand-spun milkshakes each include Original Glazed Donut-infused ice cream, topped with whipped cream and a mini-Original Glazed Donut. Available flavors include Vanilla Glazed, Double Chocolate, Salty Caramel, Classic Strawberry, and Oreo Cookies & Kreme.

The option to customize your own Original Glazed Donuts features five different glazes, 10 toppings, and five drizzle flavors. You can order them in three packs and half-dozens.

In addition to the new menu options, the new location sports the chain's first comprehensive shop redesign in over 10 years. The new shop includes a number of features including:

- An "enhanced donut theater experience" that allows you an end-to-end look at the brand's donut making process.
- New lighted doughnut display cases and digital menu boards.
- Online ordering, delivery, in-shop self-service pickup (with dedicated parking for mobile order pickup)
- An expanded drive-thru with two lands and digital order confirmation.

The chain is also remodeling its current shop network (which includes about 350 shops in the US) but the menu and shop experience will vary by location as it occurs (according to a brand representative, specifics regarding remodeling locations and timing are not being released at this time).

The locations that end up adding the expanded menu will carry them on a permanent basis although the available flavors may change seasonally.
