Apparently, they saw that most consumers only ate Top Ramen at home since you're supposed to cook them over the stove in a small pot according to the instructions. Like similar products, the new bowls just require water and a microwave to prepare.
In addition to traditional seasoning (with no added MSG and reduced sodium content per the recipe change in 2017) and instant noodles, Top Ramen Bowls each include a sauce/oil pouch and vegetables.
All launch, Top Ramen Bowls come in three flavors: Chicken, Shrimp, and Soy Sauce (vegetarian). They arrive on store shelves nationwide starting this month.
It should be noted that while Top Ramen hasn't been available in bowls previously, Nissin makes a number of easily microwaveable noodle products including Cup Noodles, Chow Mein, Hot & Spicy, Raoh, Souper Meal, and Ramen Bowl (not to be confused with Top Ramen Bowl). If you prefer to go the reusable route, they also make a Top Ramen Microwave Cooker.
