Taco Bell Debuts New Dragon Fruit Freeze

Taco Bell goes for visual effect and a lesser-known fruit with the arrival of the new, limited-time Dragon Fruit Freeze.

The Dragon Fruit Freeze consists of the icy slush Dragon Fruit Freeze swirled with dragon fruit-flavored syrup. It's also available without the syrup, which should make for a mellower but still dragon fruit-flavored drink.

If you've never tried a dragon fruit, the sweetness can vary quite a bit from fruit to fruit but the flavor is often described as a mild cross between a pear and kiwi.

The Dragon Fruit Freeze carries a suggested price of $2.49 for a 16-oz regular and $2.69 for a 20-oz large. You can also get any regular Freeze, including the Dragon Fruit Freeze, for $1 during Happier Hour, from 2 to 5 PM, at participating locations.

Dragon Fruit Freeze replaces summer's Pineapple Whip Freeze in the rotation, which also includes the Wild Strawberry Freeze and the Baja Blast Freeze.
