Chipotle Tests New Farmesa Concept in Santa Monica Ghost Kitchen

Chipotle tests a new, fresh-bowl restaurant concept called "Farmesa" from a ghost kitchen in Santa Monica, CA.

Farmesa is basically a build-your-bowl concept that looks to feature mostly American cuisine rather than the Mexican theme of Chipotle. It sounds like Chipotle but with grain and salad bowls.

Farmesa will serve a variety of bowls ranging from $11.95 to $16.95 in price. Each bowl includes a protein, green or grain, two sides, a choice of five sauces, and a topping option.

They're currently running with a limited menu but the full menu will include a number of options, including items such as Classic Santa Maria-Style Grilled Tri-Tip Steak, Everything Spice-Crusted Ora King Salmon, Whipped Potatoes, Golden Beets, Sprouted Cauliflower, and Sweet Potato Chips.

As far as drinks go, they'll offer a number of beverages from Tractor Beverage Co (which is also offered at Chipotle) as well as still and sparkling water.

If you're in the area, you can order via onsite kiosks at the Kitchen United Mix space at 1315 3rd Street, Santa Monica, CA 90401 or through the Kitchen United website . You can also order through third-party services such as DoorDash and Uber Eats.

Farmesa is currently in its soft open phrase with an abbreviated menu and limited hours before an official launch next month.
