The Reese's Salty Sweet Dozen (which includes three of each Reese's Remixed Donut varieties plus three Original Glazed Donuts) goes for $19.99 near me but I received this courtesy of Krispy Kreme.
The Reese's Salty Sweet Crunch Donut was inspired by the Reese's Big Cup Stuffed with Pretzels. It consisted of a shell donut filled with Reese's peanut butter Kreme filling, dipped in Reese's peanut butter icing, drizzled with Hershey's milk chocolate icing, and topped with sea-salt praline pretzels.
The appearance of the pretzels are not great. They kind of look like bird pellets. It probably would have looked nicer if they had gone with the classic twist pretzels. There was a decent crunch to them to go with a light, sweet-salty, slightly caramelized flavor but the pretzel notes were lacking. The Salty Sweet Crunch Donut offered the strongest peanut butter flavor with a creamy, sweet peanut butter notes form the Kreme and sweeter peanut butter notes from the icing. The milk chocolate icing added mild chocolaty notes and additional sweetness.
The Reese's Salty Sweet Crisp Donut was inspired by Reese's Big Cup Stuffed with Potato Chips) and featured an Original Glazed donut dipped in Hershey's milk chocolate icing, topped with potato sticks, a drizzle of milk chocolate icing, a drizzle of Reese's peanut butter sauce, and a dollop of Reese's peanut butter Kreme filling.
As it was both glazed and dipped in icing, the Salty Sweet Crisp Donut was quite sweet compared to the Salty Sweet Crunch Donut. The potato sticks was lightly crisped and salty with a faint fried potato flavor. It offered the most balanced chocolate-to-peanut-butter ratio but lacked in the potato chip department.
The Reese's Outrageous Donut was an Original Glazed donut dipped in Hershey's milk chocolate icing, topped with Mini Reese's Pieces, drizzled with Reese's peanut butter sauce, and salted caramel icing.
Like the Salty Sweet Crunch Donut, it was very sweet from being both glazed and dipped in icing. It was mostly like the chain's Chocolate Iced Donut with light hints of peanut butter and salted caramel and added crispiness and peanut butter from the mini Reese's Pieces.
All three Reese's Remixed Donuts were enjoyable but my favorite was the Reese's Salty Sweet Crunch Donut as it offered the most robust Reese's peanut butter qualities and a more balanced sugar-to-donut ratio. Although it lacked strong pretzel flavors, it still managed a decent crunch.
