News: Haagen-Dazs - New Flavors for 2011

The folks at Haagen-Dazs are out with a slew of new flavors and are branching off into the sundae cone business.

The new flavors are (like wine, Haagen-Dazs lists flavor profiles):

Caramel Apple Pie: "Apple ice cream and diced fresh apple swirled with caramel and chunks of flakey pie crust. Flavor Top Notes: Ripe apple, buttery cinnamon. Flavor Finish Notes: Tart, sweet apple, smooth caramel."

Blueberry Crumble: "Dense blueberry ice cream with rich, buttery cobbler crust crumbles. Flavor Top Notes: Bright, ripe blueberries. Flavor Finish Notes: Sweet cream, tart fruit, buttery cobbler crust."

Cranberry Pumpkin Spice Ice Cream: "Rich, creamy pumpkin ice cream is balanced with swirls of tart cranberry filling, then lightly spiced with cinnamon and nutmeg – a holiday classic. Flavor Top Notes: Warm pumpkin pie, a zing of nutmeg. Flavor Finish Notes: Tangy cranberry with a hint of spice."

Sweet Chai Latte: "Aromatic chai tea with rich, creamy ice cream. Flavor Top Notes: Warm cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, and anise. Flavor Finish Notes: Mellow cream with a tingle of lingering spice."

Spiced Peach Crumble (exclusive to Walmart): "Peak-flavor peaches are cooked to perfection, lightly spiced and stirred into sweet cream with nuggets of buttery crust. Flavor Top Notes: Fruity peaches, warm nutmeg and cinnamon. Flavor Finish Notes: Lingering butter and sweet summer peach."

In addition to the new ice cream flavors, Haagen-Dazs is offering Sundae Cones featuring chocolate-lined waffle cones, vanilla ice cream and either caramel or chocolate topped with roasted almonds pieces.

There's also a new frozen yogurt flavor: Chocolate Almond (featuring sliced roasted almonds blended with chocolate frozen yogurt) and a new sorbet flavor: Blackberry Cabernet (featuring blackberries married with the distinctive flavor of cabernet grapes).

All flavors are currently available on store shelves with a suggested retail price of: $4.69 per 14-oz. carton and $5.49 per five-cone carton.
