Wendy's Japan's Latest is a Burger with Three Layers of Fancy Cheese

Over in Japan, Wendy's has introduced a new burger to their "Japan Premium" line that's layered with three different cheese, including Gruyere, Emmental (Swiss), and Camembert. Considering that you'd be hard-pressed to get even one of those cheeses at a fast food chain here in the US, that's pretty fancy.

Since it's layered with 3 slices of cheese, they're calling it the Mille-Feuille Cheeseburger. A mille-feuille is probably better known as a Napoleon, a flaky, layered pastry. It seems a bit of a stretch to compare the two, but hyperbole I guess. Other than the cheeses, Wendys Mille-Feuille Cheeseburger comes with two beef patties, lettuce, and a brioche bun. It's priced at 920 yen (~$8.60 US).

Also available for the fall are two returning members of the Japan Premium line: the Snow Crab Salad Burger and the Iberico Bacon Mushroom Melt Burger.

The Snow Crab Salad Burger features red snow crab in a red paprika tartar sauce and goes for 820 yen (~$7.68 US), while the Iberico Bacon Mushroom Melt Burger features thick slices of Spanish Iberico bacon alongside the more familiar mushrooms and cheese sauce. It's selling for 780 yen (~$7.30 US).

The Japan Premium trio is available through October 26, 2014.
