Caribou Coffee Testing Fizzy Coffee

Caribou Coffee is testing nitro coffee, a slightly bubbly, cold-brewed coffee with a creamy Guinness beer-like head of foam due to an infusion of nitrogen as its poured.

Nitro coffee has gain popularity recently among smaller specialty coffee shops as well as some eateries. It can even be found in cans, so it was only a matter of time before some of the bigger coffee chains starting trying it out (I wouldn't be surprised to find it at Starbucks in a few years).

As to why you'd want to drink fizzy coffee, the velvety bubbles supposedly makes the coffee taste sweeter and feel creamier.

According to NRN, the new coffee is being tested in two locations: the shop attached to Caribou Coffee's Minneapolis support center and a drive-thru location in St. Louis Park, MN. There are plans to expand the test to 25 additional locations across the country in February.
