McDonald's Customizable Taste Crafted Menu Comes to Southern California

McDonald's semi-customizable Taste Crafted Burgers and Chicken menu is now available at McDonald's restaurants in their Southern California market (Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, and Ventura counties).

The menu allows you to choose one of four different topping combinations plus protein and buns. The exact same concept was introduced earlier this year in San Diego, but they're calling it "Chef Crafted" there. The menu choices roll-in the current chicken sandwiches and Quarter Pounder Deluxe under the "Deluxe" option.

The four topping combinations are:

- The aforementioned (and very familiar) Deluxe - Red onion, mayo, lettuce, and tomato
- Pico Guacamole - Pico de gallo, guacamole, ranch, pasteurized process white cheddar, and lettuce
- Maple Bacon Dijon - Bacon with maple seasoning, grilled onions, Dijon sauce, pasteurized process white cheddar, and lettuce
- Buffalo Bacon - Blue cheese spread, Buffalo sauce, applewood-smoked bacon, tomato, and shredded lettuce.

Protein choices include a quarter-pound beef patty, a Buttermilk Crispy Chicken filet, or an Artisan Grilled Chicken filet. The bun selection consists of a sesame seed bun, potato roll, or artisan roll (the potato roll is new).

The Taste Crafted menu looks to be a possible, less sweeping, alternative to the more customizable "Create Your Taste" concept they're trying here in the U.S. as well as several markets abroad.
