McDonald's Trying "Chef Crafted" Customization Options

McDonald's is testing new "Chef Crafted Flavors" as a follow up to their "Taste Crafted" customizable burger platform test.

Besides the new name, they offer three flavor combinations: Buffalo Bacon, Pico Guacamole, and Maple Bacon Dijon. The previous "Taste Crafted" test offered Bacon Clubhouse, Pico Guacamole, Hot Jalapeno, and Deluxe.

- Buffalo Bacon includes creamy blue cheese sauce with blue cheese crumbles, Buffalo sauce, applewood-smoked bacon, tomato, and shredded green lettuce.

- Pico Guacamole features pico de gallo, guacamole, ranch, processed white cheddar, and leaf lettuce, served with a lime wedge on the side

- Maple Bacon Dijon consists of maple-seasoned bacon, grilled onions, honey dijon sauce, processed white cheddar, and leaf lettuce.

Other customization options include a choice of patty (beef, crispy chicken, or grilled chicken) and bun (artisan roll or sesame seed bun). Basically, Chef Crafted is a more limited form of the "Create Your Taste" build-a-burger concept they're also trying.

The Chef Crafted test is ongoing at participating restaurants in San Diego County.
