Review: El Pollo Loco - Guacamole Grilled Chicken Sandwich

El Pollo Loco Guacamole Grilled Chicken Sandwich
The other sandwich to El Pollo Loco's Grilled Chicken Sandwich duo, the Guacamole Grilled Chicken Sandwich differs from the Jalapeno version in that it substitutes a glop of guacamole instead of jalapenos, Southwest sauce, and a slice of cheese. The price remains the same at $4.29 per.

First off, I somehow got two "butt" pieces for the bun and yes, I did flip it over to check that I wasn't just holding the sandwich upside down. It didn't make any difference though since the bread had a uniform dense, softness through from crust to whatever it is you call the inside part of bread. Is it dough? Meat? Innards?

Anyway, like the Jalapeno sandwich, the Guacomole Grilled Chicken Sandwich is stuffed full of shredded lettuce, which ends up falling out of the sandwich as you eat and making a nice old mess.

While the guacamole was fairly uniformly distributed, it tended to shift around as I ate leading to some tasty bites with lots of guacamole and some "just okay" bites with mostly salty chicken. Oddly, the guacamole tended to blunt the saltiness of the chicken.

Between the Jalapeno version and this one, the Sister and the Sister-in-law prefered the Guac, while I preferred the Jalapeno for a more uniform and spicy experience.
