Review: Starbucks - Rocky Road Cake Pop

Starbucks new Petites look like an easy grab for an add-on to your coffee, I recently took advantage of their recent promotion and picked up a Rocky Road Cake Pop for free to go with my Cocoa Cappuccino. It features a chocolate cake ball on a stick dipped in a dark chocolate coating and then sprinkled with mini marshmallows and roasted almonds.

They're normally $1.50 each.

While I don't recommend the pairing (the sweetness of the Cake Pop makes the Cocoa Cappuccino taste so much less sweet so that I ended up eating/drinking a while from each other), the Rocky Road Cake Pop was actually quite good.
I thought it tasted more like a moist brownie than a cake; but a very good brownie. It was dense, quite most and chocolaty. The chocolate coating was also fairly rich and the marshmallows and almonds make for a nice pairing. That being said you can eat one of these things in one big bite for maybe two or three smaller bites which makes it fine for a very light treat if you're willing to exhibit portion control but not so much if you're not.
