Review: Wendy's - Bacon and Cheese Baked Potato

Wendy's Bacon and Cheese Baked Potato features a large baked Russet potato topped with bits of their applewood-smoked bacon and cheese sauce for $2.99.

Wendy's is the only fast food chain that I know of that offers baked potatoes on the menu. When you have an itch that can only be scratched with a baked potato and don't want to wait the 30 or more minutes to bake one yourself, Wendy's is really the only quick way to get one.
You don't always taste it as much in some of Wendy's other applications, but their new, thicker-sliced bacon really shines on the Baked Potato and goes really well with the potato. I love the crispy bits of smoky bacon flavor mixed with the potato and cheese. My favorite part by far. Bacon and cheese? Yes please!

My least favorite part would have to be the rather innocuous cheese sauce which is very liquidy and not very flavorful. I would have much preferred if they just sprinkled on some of that Cheddar cheese they have lying around and just let it melt in the potato's heat. That would be perfect.

  1. There is something within my psyche that prohibits my paying the asked-for sum for a tater with goodies piled atop the spud.

I can purchase a spud for so little, microwave in minutes, then slather it with goop that I convulse at the mere thought of feeding corporate coffers the immense amount of profit they rake in from selling high-falutin' food.

Do not interpret my babbling as a condemnation of your review, however,

Thou art still performing a vital service for and to humanity.

Assuredly at a far greater level than every federal-level vile vermin politician.
