The new margaritas will be made with triple sec, lemon-lime juice, and organic nectar according to The Huffington Post. The old margaritas were also made with Sauza tequila but with a margarita mix instead of separate ingredients.
The company aims for the change to result in tastier margaritas.
The house margarita (made with Sauza) will cost around $5 (varying by region), while the premium Patron version will range between $6.50 and $8.
Maybe it's just me, but I can't imagine upgrading to a Patron Margarita if I have the option... is it really gonna taste much different? If I'm doing tequila shots then I'll definitely go for the Patron, but I always thought cheap tequilas like Sauza, Cuervo, etc. were fine for a Margarita.
ReplyDeleteWell, the funny thing about using Patron is that it's been so successful because it's distanced itself away from the word "tequila" in marketing, even though that's what it is.
