Panda Express Bringing Japanese Cheesecake Chain to U.S.

The Panda Restaurant Group, which owns Panda Express, has partnered with a Japanese bakery chain known for its fresh, handmade cheesecakes, to bring it over here to the U.S.

The first location is opening in Honolulu on March 1, 2016 with a second location planned in Arcadia, CA to open later this year.

The chain in question, Uncle Tetsu Japanese Cheesecake, bakes cheesecakes in small batches daily and serves them straight from the oven. Compared to a traditional cheesecake, they have a lighter density (i.e. they're fluffier) and are less sweet. The chain will also be serving other Asian-inspired baked goods and teas.
