Burger King Unleashes New Whopperrito Burger-Burrito Hybrid

Calling it a "Tex-Mex twist" to their signature Whopper burger, Burger King unveils the new Whopperrito. If you haven't guessed by the name, it's a fusion of a Whopper and a burrito.

The Whopperrito is basically a burrito filled with Whopper ingredients (minus the bun), plus a dash of Tex-Mex flavors. It features flame-grilled beef seasoned with a blend of Tex-Mex spices, tomatoes, onions, lettuce, pickles, and a creamy queso sauce all wrapped up in flour tortilla. It came about from an idea by a Burger King franchisee and the decision was made to roll it out nationally after a local test of the item garnered a lot of media attention and social media demand.

The new entree is the second menu item from the chain recently to "Whopperfy" another menu item. They also put out a Whopper Dog earlier in May. Perhaps Whopper Fries are next? (Please no Whopper sundae...)

Burger King's Whopperrito is set to arrive at participating locations starting August 15, 2016 (but can already be found at some restaurants) and will be available for a limited time, while supplies last.

The suggested price for the Whopperrito is $2.99, while a combo meal, which adds fries and a drink, goes for $4.99 (may vary).
