Review: S'mores Chips Ahoy Cookies

S'mores Chips Ahoy cookies feature soft-baked chocolate chip cookies with a chocolaty filling and marshmallow-flavored chips.

I bought a 9.5-oz package for $2.99.

I think the cookie portion on these may be graham cracker-flavored but I can't be sure because it kind of smells like it but doesn't taste like it to me. In texture, the cookie part is the same soft, slightly crumbly stuff you get through the Chewy Chips Ahoy line.

The cookies are slightly larger than regular Chewy Chips Ahoy as it looks like they've tried to cram more chocolaty filling in the center than the Gooey Choco Fudge version (although they appear to be the same in weight according to the bag). But while the fudge cookie was gooey at room temperature, the chocolaty filling here was fairly solid unless you microwave them.

The chocolaty chips (instead of actual chocolate chips) and chocolaty filling were nice enough but the marshmallow-flavored chips didn't make me think marshmallows at all but rather some weird artificial, slightly creamy flavor that didn't really remind me of anything.

Overall, I was not a fan of S'mores Chips Ahoy cookies as they fall flat in both taste and s'more-ish quality. I suppose you could say they're in the same ballpark as s'mores, but way up in the cheap seats.
