Review: Oreo Egg

Oreo Eggs feature a milk chocolate shell with a creme filling interspersed with chocolaty cookie pieces.

I picked up one of the 1.19-oz eggs for 99 cents.

The chocolate shell was about as thick as a Cadbury Egg (which are manufactured by Hershey's in the US) but seemed to be made of Mondelez's Milka brand chocolate, which is to say it was super creamy with a nice melt to it.

The creme inside isn't much like the creme filling of an Oreo cookie, except maybe in color. It's thinner but stickier and the vanilla flavor is different. The cookie bits in the egg are made with rice flour rather than wheat flour and managed to remain crispy while swimming inside the creme filling.

When it comes down to it, I enjoyed the Oreo Egg but the combined flavors didn't quite hit the right "Oreo" note for me, although it was visually spot on. I really liked the chocolate shell though.
