Review: Burger King - Mozzarella Sticks

Burger King's Mozzarella Sticks feature mozzarella cheese covered in an Italian-style seasoning and then deep-fried.

An order of four sticks cost me $1.49 and comes with a small cup of marinara sauce for dipping.

I think when they say "Italian-style seasoning," they mean breadcrumbs because there's really not much, if any, in the way of seasoning on these mozzarella sticks. It wasn't even all that salty.

I got a pretty fresh batch as the breading was nice and crispy while the cheese was thoroughly melted.

With the mozzarella sticks being pretty taste-less, the included marinara sauce was left to carry the flavor load. The sauce was mostly just sweet and tangy with the requisite tomato notes but was lacking in any garlic, onion, or herb flavors.

When it comes down to it, Burger King's Mozzarella Sticks were decent enough but really basic. They're a bit of a "Mozzarella sticks? Yes."-type of situation. Still, at $1.49, they're cheaper than most mozzarella sticks out there. Both Sonic and Arby's sell an order of four mozzarella sticks for over $2.
