Review: McDonald's - Stroopwafel McFlurry

McDonald's Stroopwaffel McFlurry features vanilla soft serve mixed with caramel and chopped Dutch Daelmans Stroopwafel caramel waffle cookie pieces and hails from their menu over in the Netherlands.

It costs $2.69 at my local McDonald's but I received this courtesy of McDonald's.

For the most part, given the combination of caramel and vanilla soft serve, the Stroopwafel McFlurry comes off feeling like a better mixed caramel sundae. Somehow, the caramel does feel a bit richer and more buttery than I remember though. It could be the stroopwafel pieces mixed in I guess? Or, maybe they just put a lot of caramel in mine.

The caramel in the stroopwafel bits were fairly hard from the cold of the ice cream. There's not a lot of pull to it but it's gummy enough to stick to your teeth. The flavor was nice and the hardness, combined with the thin waffle cookie portion, added... not quite a crunch, but a definite textural contrast.

Taken altogether, I enjoyed Stroopwafel McFlurry for the vanilla ice cream and caramel combination but couldn't help feeling I would have like it better with waffle cone pieces in place of the stroopwafels.
