McDonald's New Crispy Chicken Sandwich Set to Arrive Starting February 24, 2021

McDonald's joins the "new chicken sandwich" club with the upcoming national debut of the new Crispy Chicken Sandwich starting February 24, 2021.

McDonald's Crispy Chicken Sandwich features a new fried white-meat chicken filet that's described by the chain as "crispy, juicy,' and "tender." Also new is a toasted and buttered potato bun. Potato buns are most commonly associated with Shake Shack among fast food chains and, ideally, they're squishy soft but still resilient enough to not fall apart against the heat and moisture of the rest of the burger or chicken sandwich.

The Crispy Chicken Sandwich will come in three varieties:

- Crispy Chicken Sandwich - The new chicken filet topped with crinkle-cut pickles on the new potato bun.

- Spicy Chicken Sandwich - The new chicken filet, crinkle-cut pickles, and Spicy Pepper Sauce on the new potato bun.

- Deluxe Chicken Sandwich - The new chicken filet, shredded lettuce, Roma tomatoes, and mayo on the new potato bun.

As far as the promotional images go and taking into account the three varieties at launch, McDonald's seems to be taking aim at Chick-fil-A with the new sandwich (although they've offered and discontinued similar sandwiches in the past, including the Southern Style Chicken Sandwich and the Classic Chicken Sandwich)
