City of Santa Monica Gets Its Own Taco Bell Burrito in Spain

Here in the US, the city of Santa Monica is probably most notable for its pier and beaches but isn't particularly a burrito town like, say, San Diego or Los Angeles. It's notable then that Taco Bell has given the city its own burrito, called the "Santa Monica Burrito," over in Spain.

Here's the blurb for the burrito: "If each time you watch a movie with endless Californian beaches filled with people with beach bodies, you feel envious and think you should be there having fun, don’t worry – now you can enjoy all the flavor of these beaches with our Santa Monica Burrito. An incredible combination of your favorite meat, black beans, double cheese, pico de gallo and Pepper Jack sauce. You will discover a wave of flavor that will take you from Pacific Park to the Santa Monica Pier." So, there you have it, it's the flavor of California beaches--probably from all the B-roll beach footage in TV and movies including a pan-over of the Santa Monica Pier.

The Santa Monica Burrito is basically a Grilled Stuft Burrito filled with black beans, guacamole, cream, lettuce, double cheese, pico de gallo, Pepper Jack sauce, and a choice of meat. No other city or place gets a burrito (or menu item for that matter) on the Taco Bell Spain menu.

On a related note, I found this "chicken salad" on the Taco Bell Spain menu:

It looks like a plate of nachos but with lettuce instead of tortilla chips. In appearance, at least half the salad is "crispy chicken strips, pico de gallo, double cheese, guacamole, and Pepper Jack sauce." That being said, I would happily eat this "chicken salad."

They also have a "side salad" that is a bed of lettuce topped with double cheese, tomato, Pepper Jack sauce, nacho cheese sauce, and a single tortilla chip. Yes, there's three forms of cheese on their side salad. I'm moving to Spain.
